How to connect HubSpot to Claude and ChatGPT
Updated Oct 28, 2026 · By Tyler Loud · HubSpot tracker entry
Short version: HubSpot builds and maintains its own connector. It's in Claude's connector directory and ChatGPT's plugin directory. If you're a Super Admin, it takes about five minutes. If you're not, ask your Super Admin to approve it first.
Before you start
- You need an active HubSpot user. The connector is free on every HubSpot plan.
- Claude needs a paid plan: Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.
- Approval: Super Admins and users with App Marketplace Access can connect right away. Everyone else needs a Super Admin to approve the connector. The Super Admin also picks which data permissions it gets and who can install it.
- Everything respects your HubSpot permissions. If you can't see a record in HubSpot, the AI can't either.
Step 1 (Super Admin): approve the connector
Follow HubSpot's usual app review and approval steps. While you approve it, pick the optional data permissions and the users or teams who can install it. If you're the only HubSpot user, you're the Super Admin, so skip ahead.
Step 2: connect in Claude
- In Claude, click your profile icon (bottom left) > Settings > Connectors.
- Click Browse, search for HubSpot, and click Connect.
- Log in and pick the HubSpot account you want.
- On the "Connecting HubSpot Connector for Claude" page, choose permissions and click Connect app.
Step 3: connect in ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings > Plugins. HubSpot's KB still calls this Apps. Select HubSpot.
- Click Install (or Connect), then Continue to HubSpot, and log in.
- Pick the account, choose permissions, and click Connect app.
Some ChatGPT workspaces also need a ChatGPT workspace admin to approve the updated app before everyone gets the newest features.
Limits worth knowing (from HubSpot's docs)
- Bulk create or update works on 10 records at a time.
- In ChatGPT, custom validation rules aren't applied to creates or updates. That includes pipeline stage and association label validations. In Claude, conditional property rules and pipeline stage validations are applied, but association label validations aren't.
- All activity counts against HubSpot's API usage limits.
Prompts to try first (AE edition)
- "Which of my open deals closing this quarter haven't had activity in 14 days?"
- "Summarize every logged call and email with Acme in the last 90 days, then list open risks."
- "Log a note on the Acme deal: champion confirmed budget, next step is security review."
Tip from the field: start read-only. Ask questions for a week before you let it write to your CRM. HubSpot's own advice is to start small when updating records.
